Zoya Akhtar wants to make a franchise out of her this hit film

Exactly 10 years ago Zoya Akhtar started her journey in Bollywood as a director. Ever since her directorial debut, Luck By Chance, Zoya has come a long way and made some wonderful films over a decade. Luck By Chance starred Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen in the lead along with Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Juhi Chawla, Hrithik Roshan, Isha Sharvani and Sanjay Kapoor in important roles. Post that, Zoya has directed some brilliant films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011), Dil Dhadakne Do (2015) and her latest release Gully Boy which is rocking at the box-office.

Earlier reports of Zoya making a sequel to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara have done rounds on the internet but looks like the filmmaker has not decided about it yet. In her recent chat with a leading portal, Zoya was asked which of her movies could make for a better franchise, and her reply has got us quite excited. She said, “Honestly, people want a second movie of ZNMD, but I think the best franchise would either be Luck By Chance or Dil Dhadakne Do. There are so many characters and so many streams and they are ongoing stories. So I think they would make better franchises.”

Speaking of her latest release Gully Boy, the film witnessed a steady growth over the weekend. The Ranveer Singh – Alia Bhatt starrer has already earned Rs 72.45 crore and will soon cross the lifetime business of Dil Dhadakne Do and Zindagi Milegi Dobara.
