Gully Boy to become Zoya Akhtar’s highest grossing film within a week

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are currently riding high on the success of their latest release Gully Boy. The film is being loved by people of all age groups and has received wonderful reviews from critics all over. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film revolves around the life of street rappers of Mumbai and their struggles to showcase their abundant talent.  Gully Boy released last Thursday on Valentine’s Day and it raked in Rs 19.40 crore during its first day.

The film then went on to have a good first weekend at the box-office as on Friday it collected Rs 13. 10 crore, on Saturday it earned Rs 18.65 crore and on Sunday the film witnessed a jump in its collections as it made Rs 21. 30 crore. The total earnings of the film till now is Rs 72.45 crore.

Gully Boy is expected to earn more than the lifetime collections of Zoya’s films Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (Rs 90.27 crore) and Dil Dhadakne Do (Rs 76.88 crore) in just a week and that’s quite an achievement for the makers. We congratulate team Gully Boy for making a masterpiece.
